Check weights in the real world and you should be able to remove most if not all from your list (original posting was 2250 pounds).

Posted by docarter (4 years ago)

Good point Mr. Bill. I think 2,400 is a more realistic number.

Best,
Dayton

Your budget and requirements make this a tall order. If you don't require a wet bath, there is this one with bunks for four, and it's not far from you. It's pretty basic (no fridge, awning, or A/C), so I'd estimate an UVW under 2000#. https://www.fiberglass-rv-4sale.com/for-sale/2017-16-scamp-sale-12555 EDIT- old listing... oops! That site has the most complete listings on the web, since it harvests and reposts listings from Craigslist (after filtering out scams) and eBay, along with direct postings. You may find the best Craigslist deals are already sold to a local buyer before they appear on that site. I agree that the RV industry appears headed into recession, but molded fiberglass trailers are at least recession-resistant, thanks to limited supply. I doubt you'll find the deep price-slashing you find on dealer lots. Still, you may find sellers somewhat more willing to negotiate at present, since they know many potential buyers are not able to travel. Best wishes!

I'd like a wet bath and I'm in no hurry to buy (trip is planned for 2022). :) I think my listing will appeal to someone who either wants to sell quickly or is just finished using their tt. I have talked to several tt owners who said they didn't want to sell??

And I just caught that it's an old listing. Long gone, I'm sure. Fall is often a better time to score deals. Spring is usually crazy, but of course this is not an ordinary spring.

My 2017 deluxe 16' Scamp was 2,360 lbs as built. (all options)

Fall sales
And I just caught that it's an old listing. Long gone, I'm sure. Fall is often a better time to score deals. Spring is usually crazy, but of course this is not an ordinary spring.
My last two used RVs sold in the fall after I had winterized. People are looking because they think that's the time to buy, but I got a good price for both. Be ready to buy with cash and jump on the deal. With all the unemployment, there may be some forced sales out there.

I sent you a PM.

Thanks for the info on the Scamp! :) 2,3xxlbs is definitely within my limits (3,500lbs).

I hope nobody is put out by the pandemic, but I must consider my own interests in resale value if this goes on for any length of time. Basically, I'm not going to pay regular retail to have the market collapse further and be really under water on a tt.
