1977 Scamp 13 ft in very good condition 6500

We love our little hard sided tent and it has been a labor of love to bring it back from the neglect of sitting behind a barn for many years. However, we decided a full bathroom and side dinette model 16 foot suited our needs better so our Scamp 13 ft. is for sale.

We have taken several long trips from Michigan in this camper. It has performed admirably. I can think of no reason it could not do many more such trips.

I am posting the Good now. The Bad and Ugly list is available to interested buyers.

I m going to include my folding 40 watt solar panel which is the right size to Velcro to the bed side of the closet.

It is my hope that the buyer will be handy and committed to keeping this classic in good condition. I m passing it on in good condition and would love to see it stay that way for another generation of campers to enjoy.

The Good:

Solid body and frame, the axle replaced 5 years ago. Tires new 3 years ago. I ordered axle with brakes. Not needed on a 13 ft but being able to stop quicker with trailer than without is nice, especially when traveling in mountains or heavy traffic.

It all works. Fridge gets cold on electric or gas, stove lights, can light gravity furnace. Floor is solid, doors intact.

Windows all work. Have all the little latch handles that often break off and get lost. Had replacement brackets machined to replace the brackets that broke.

Added a full sine wave inverter 1000 watt continuous 2000 watt peak. Set up to power a single plug on the face of the couch or can power the entire camper. Has off switch installed to avoid small drain on battery of having it on when not in use.

Replaced hitch pig tail and connected to a new junction box in storage area under street side of couch. Wired to charge battery from tow vehicle through the plug if the vehicle is wired for that.

Battery is about 4 years old but is maintained with distilled water and a charge maintainer.

Replaced rivets and snap caps 8 years ago, have kept up replacing snap caps to protect cups so the rivet cups are in decent shape.

Added 5 outlets to shore power fuse box. Face of couch street side, rear end of kitchen counter, street side dinette seat at rear, curb side dinette seat. . One weather sealed outlet on the outside on the bottom of the floor. Located at front street side corner. Added a fused 12 volt outlet to the rear end of kitchen counter for phone chargers etc.

Led bulbs in the interior 12 volt lights, replaced fluorescent light over sink.

Installed shelving in closet to convert it to a pantry for silverware, pots amp; pans, cooking stuff. Shelving can be removed but we have found it much more useful as shelved storage than it was as a place to hang clothes.

Decals from Scamp all replaced 7 years ago. I also replaced the hand pump water faucet and water line.

Porta Potty stored in cupboard under center of couch.

Added awning track that takes a rope edged awning, I use home built connectors so that I can attach any tarp using the grommet holes. One can purchase a very nice awning to fit the track from Marti's Vintage Trailer Awnings. Track is installed using 3M VHB tape so no added holes in roof.

Wood floor under front couch replaced, wood supports for couch and bunk replaced. Rear seats removed and wood floor sanded and painted before adding vinyl flooring.

Shortened the power cord so that it wasn t taking so much space in under seat storage and to keep it from getting all tangled with camping items stored under that seat. Must use an extension cord to reach campground power but for our use it worked better.

Allure brand vinyl plank flooring installed, and I think I did a pretty good job of it.

Elephant hide liner is good and all the seam tape was replaced 7 years ago.

Replaced the tongue to fit the more standard 2 inch ball rather than the stock 1 7/8 inch tongue.

Some additional photos. Will get some pictures of the inside when it stops raining.

Interior without cushions and the closet on it's side despite having rotated it 90* and reuploaded 4 times

I will follow with pictures with cushions.

These are interior with cushions. Normally we have the rear dinette as a bed. Both the bed and couch have a memory foam topper and matching red sheets to use as a cover. The couch is shown with sheet wrapped over memory foam. Fair warning you don't get the throw pillows, wife made that clear as I took them out to the camper. But they do give an idea of how it looks, and the sheets go with the camper.

I sleep on the couch when camping with brother-in-law. Or sometimes in rest areas when traveling I will nap on the couch.

Also note the outlet and push button switch on the lower left corner of the couch. That is set up to allow single outlet that is running off of inverter. The push button shuts it off so there is no "parasitic" drain on the battery.

The interior pictures were posted in the public discussion area. Link to that discussion and the interior pictures is available at the Public Discussion link at the bottom of the ad text. The text of post there shows up here but not the photos. Can't post links in these comments so you have to use the link provided to Public Discussion above. There are two sites linked. Stuff posted there appears here. Posts here appear there. The above was posted on the other fiberglass classifieds site. Appears out of context here in the public discussion where the pictures are posted. Makes sense where it was originally posted.

I would also note that the porta-pottie is in the center cupboard under the couch. Open cupboard and slide out pottie. Then slide back under when done. Have had no issues with smell from the unit.

Added it after I found myself on a mountain pass with no facilities and above the tree line and apparently even above the large bush line. Decided having a toilet in the camper would be a nice addition.

Wife likes it better than pit toilets in rustic campgrounds. I appreciate it being readily available first thing in the morning.

My favorite era Scamp 13 due to the windows! Opening front and rear, plus they tip out from the bottom so they can be open in the rain. And a very active member means interested parties will get a response instead of the typical echo, echo. GLWTS!
